He was born Jan. 6, 1929, in Clarksburg, a son of the late Doy James and Bertha (Cutlip) James. In addition his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty (February)James on Feb. 23, 2013.
Bill is survived by one daughter, Greta White, who has been his caregiver since his wife's passing. Also surviving are two sons, Rick James of Mimms, FL, and Tommy James (Diane) of Greer, SC. Also surviving are grandchildren, Misty Merchant and Candy Loiselle; great-grandchildren, Madison Merchant, Morgan Merchant and Harper Loiselle. In addition, Bill is survived by one brother, Richard James (Diane) of Beriein Heights, OH.
Mr. James was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Sutton. Bill served his country in the US Army in Germany. After the military, he worked for Ford Motor Company in Ohio, where he retired with 30 years of service. After retirement he moved back to Tesla, where he has lived for the past few years. Bill enjoyed boating, fishing, hunting, riding his motorcycle and his four-wheeler.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, Feb. 27, at the First Southern Baptist Church in Sutton at 1 p.m. Interment will follow services in Braxton Cemetery, Sutton, with full military honors conducted by American Legion Post 33.
