He was born Sept.15,1918 at Durham,N.C. the son of Earl Dowd Bevers,Sr and Felcie Gray Witaker. He graduated from Logan Chiropractic College,St.LouisMo. in 1949 moving to Dodge City,KS and practicing until retiring in early 1990's.
He was a founding member of Chirst the King Lutheran Church and was a past Sunday School Superintendent. He was a life member of Howard Gotschall Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No.1714 at Dodge City,KS. He also belonged to the Kansas Chiropractic Association. He served in the U.S.Army during WWII with the 16th Armored Division, 216th Medical Batallion.
On Dec.26,1945,he married Leona Setzkorn. She died Aug.8,1965. On Jan.15,1966, he married Louise Reeves Newkirk. She died July 16,1984. On March 17,1985, he married Janet McCollom Bailes. She died July 22,1997.
Survivors include two daughters: Kathleen Glotta of Valley Center,Ks and Marla Love of Cleveland,Ohio; five grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren and a niece.
He was preceded in death by a brother,Earl Dowd Bevers,Jr.
Funeral services were held at Christ the King Lutheran Church,Dodge City with Pastor Gib Botten presiding.
