Her biological parents were John Lewis BROWN and Minnie Lee "Bryson" BROWN. Her siblings were, an older sister Louise Dovie Brown and a younger brother Melvin Jessie Brown. She is listed as Mrs. Oma Grider in the October 1949 obituary of John Lewis Brown.
