Tony James Lawson, 50, of Crossville, went to be with the Lord Feb. 14, 2014. He passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services were held Feb. 18 at Hood Funeral Home. Bro. Milton Carr officiated, with burial in Thomas Springs Cemetery. He was born May 19, 1963, in Cumberland County, the son of James Othel and Flo Ann Ferguson Lawson. He worked as a logger and truck driver. He was also of the Baptist faith. He loved spending time outdoors or just working on an old Chevy. His favorite pastime was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Pauline Lawson of Crossville; son, Johnathon Lawson and his fiancée, Betty Kirkman, of Crossville; daughter, Carrie Swafford and husband, Donover, of Spencer; mother, Flo Ann Lawson of Crossville; sister, BArbara Turner and husband, Floyd, of Crossville; grandchildren, Elliot and Joseph Lawson and Elexis, April and Brittany Swafford; step-grandchildren, Mason and Juliet Kirkman; nieces, Melissa Henry and husband, Ronnie, of Wartburg, Tiffany Guy and husband, Zack, of Crossville, and Faith Turner, also of Crossville; several aunts, uncles, great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Donnie Lee Lawson; sister, Christie Mechelle Lawson; paternal grandparents, Willard and Ruby Lawson; maternal grandparents, Tom and Lizzie Ferguson; and one grandchild. Pallbearers were Casey Burgess, Ray Boniol, Don Smith, Ronnie Smith, James Keedy and Adam Brewer.
