Cottontown, TN ~ Jacob Edward Summers, 71, farmer, died yesterday in Highland Hospital of pistol bullet wounds to the head, suffered December 27.
Sheriff Albert Hackett said the wounds were self inflicted.
Services will be at 2 p.m. at Mount Pleasant Church near Portland, Tenn. The Rev. Paul Crowder, Rev. Harry Civils, Rev. Ernest Beatles will officiate, and burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in White House. The body is at Wilkinson and Wiseman Funeral Home in Portland, Tenn.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Jessie Garrison Summers; a son, Granville Summers, Cottontown, and 2 grandchildren.
