Walter Henry Sutton, 96, of Evansville, passed away Thursday, October 12, 2017, at his home. He was born August 14, 1921, in Evansville, IN. He graduated from Bosse High School and earned an Associate's Degree from Evansville College. He served in the US Air Force from 1942 to 1945 as a bombardier on a B-24 with the 781st Bomb Squadron, and flew 43 missions out of Italy. During his service he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, three Air Medals, two Presidential Awards, and several unit citations.

Walter was preceded in death by his first wife, Dottie Sutton; father, Clifford Sutton; mother, Sophia Sutton; brothers, Paul, Delbert and William Sutton; and sisters, Helen Riley and Hazel Parson.
