OBITUARY-
ADAMS -- A Funeral Mass will be offered for Marcella P. Jax at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Johns Catholic Church in Johnsburg, Minn., with the Rev. Gregory Leif officiating. Interment will be in St. Johns Catholic Cemetery.
Mrs. Jax, 79, of Adams, died Thursday (Nov. 6, 1997) at the Adams Health Care Center.
Marcella Koenigs was born May 26, 1918, in Meyer, Iowa. She attended school in Meyer. On June 6, 1939, she married Sophronius Jax at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Meyer.
She was a member of St. Johns Catholic Church and a member of St. John's Rosary Society.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sophronius, in 1996 and her daughter and a brother.
She is survived by two daughters, Betty Cole and Mary Esau, both of Minneapolis; a son, Dean Jax, of Adams; four sisters, Johanna Mullenbach of Adams, Bernette (Mrs. John) Krause of Charles City, Iowa, Anna Miller of Austin and Martha Bowe of Taopi, Minn.; 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at the Adams Funeral Home. There will be a rosary at 4 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m. Friends may also call from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
