She was married to John James Bricker on September 21, 1871 in Carroll County, Ohio (Marriage Book 3, page 195)

Mrs. Sarah Bricker, wife of John J. Bricker, died of Bright's disease Tuesday night, past midnight, 11th inst. she had long suffered with dropsy and heart disease and since December 6 had been bedfast, requiring the constant attention of her husband and daughters. The remains will be interred this afternoon. Service at the Reformed Church at 1:30 o'clock where Rev. S. V. Rohrbaugh will preach a sermon.
Mrs. Bricker was a daughter of the late R. P. Gould, and was born June 7, 1846, in this town and was married September 22, 1871. Two daughters were born to them both of whom are married and live in this town. She had long been a member of the Reformed Church. She was unobtrusive in her nature and was happiest in her own home, where she always fulfilled the part of a good wife and mother. There are three left of her parents' family--Glen Gould, Mrs. Jacob Karn and Mrs. George Saltsgiver. The bereaved friends have the sympathy of a wide circle of friends.

Mrs. John J. Bricker died Tuesday evening after a prolonged illness from dropsy. Rev. Mr. Rohrbaugh of the Reformed Church will conduct funeral services Friday.
Besides her husband, the deceased leaves two daughters, Mesdames Homer Albaugh and Anna Wilson. Mrs. Bricker was a daughter of Paxton Gould.
