The Right Reverend Leopoldo Jesus Alard, Bishop Suffragan of the Diocese of Texas and VGEC Chaplain, died October 16 after more than a year of multiple health problems. At the the time of his death, Bishop Alard was waiting for a liver transplant. His funeral was held on Saturday morning, the 25 of October at Christ Church Cathedral, Houston, and his ashes are to be interred at St. John the Divine Episcopal Church, Houston, which was his home parish after his health forced him to step down from his duties as Bishop. His is survived by his father, wife Aida, and 15-year-old daughter Rebecca.
