James K. Murray, 82, of Billings, passed away Friday, Feb. 21, 2014, at the Riverstone Hospice Home.

James was born in Missoula, Mont., on July 30, 1931, the son of Joseph and Gertrude Walsh Murray.

He served his country honorably in the United States Air Force.

James married the love of his life Joanne Stewart in Missoula, on Feb. 20, 1954. Joanne passed away in 1995.

James enjoyed cooking, dancing, his dogs (all cocker spaniels), golfing, story-telling, NASCAR, convertibles,traveling to Jackpot with friends, hockey, Montana Sports, and Christmas was his favorite time of year. James loved life and spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his only sibling brother Joe Jr.

James is survived by his five children: Sandy Brewster, Mark (Brenda) Murray, Stacy Murray and Stephanie (Tom) Northam. He is also survived by six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church or Riverstone Hospice Home.

Memorial services will be held 12 noon Sunday, Feb. 23, at Cremation & Funeral Gallery.

Interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens will be held at a later date.
