Services for Billy Joe Miles, age 67, of Troup will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014 at the chapel at Boren-Conner Funeral Home, Jacksonville with Bro. Miles Pike officiating. Burial will follow at New Emmaus Cemetery.

Billy Joe Miles was born January 15, 1947 in Cherokee County, Texas and passed away on February 16, 2014 at the V.A. Hospital in Dallas, TX. He was a carpenter and an electrician and a member of the Masonic Lodge in New Summerfield. He served in the U. S. Army and attended Officer Candidate School. He loved to hunt and fish.

He was a man who appreciated the simple things in life. Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Jim Newburn Miles and Viola Juanita Gammon Miles, and a brother Bennie Lee Miles. He is survived by his wife, three sons, four daughters, twelve grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday evening at Boren-Conner Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
