Tammy Ragland Black, 43, of Virginia Beach, formerly of Amherst County, passed away Sunday, December 22, 2013 at her residence. She was the wife of the late Dennie Wayne Black.
Born December 3, 1970 in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of Raymond Edward and Peggy Sessoms Ragland of Amherst. Prior to moving to Virginia Beach, Tammy was a former nursing assistant with Amherst County Public Schools.
In addition to her parents, Tammy is survived by her daughter, Lauren Black of Radford and her significant other, James Newton; a sister, Michelle Bryant and husband Thomas of Amherst and four nephews, Peyton and Holden Bryant and Jack and Robert Mies.
Funeral services for Tammy and memorial services for Dennie will be held together at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 28, 2013 at Clifford Baptist Church with the Rev. Kelvin Brown officiating. Following the services, Tammy will be interred at Amherst
