Sandra (Sandy)was born at the base hospital Camp Lejeune, North Carolina in 1962, the only daughter of a career Marine military family. Growing up, she traveled around the U.S.with her military family (parents and two brothers) and lived two years in Bangkok, Thailand. Upon her family's retirement from active military service, she married and lived in Northport, Alabama. She was the innocent victim of an automobile accident near Montgomery, Alabama, in 1995.
