Emma "Bogie" Britt

Columbia, MO – Emma V. "Bogie" Britt, age 77 died Monday, May 16, 2011 at University Hospital in Columbia.

She was born January 30, 1934 in Sikeston to the late Thomas and Ethel Hawkins Burns. She was a cook at Kelletts Restaurant for many years and was of the Pentecostal faith.

On July 27, 1951 she married Walter Britt who preceded her in death on October 18, 2008.

Survivors include: one son Thomas Britt of Columbia, three daughters Barbara Raines and Ethel Hurley both of Columbia, and Pat Counsil of Portland Missouri. Three brothers Eugene Burns,and Jack Burns both of Diehlstadt and Roger Burns of Sikeston. Two sisters Sandra Hurley of Canalou,and Darlene Burns of Alton, Ill. 15 grand children, 13 great grand children, 3 great great grand children.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday at Ponder Funeral Home with her brother Rev. Jack Burns officiating. Visitation will continue until 6:00 p.m.. Interment will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery at 9:00 a.m. Thursday.
