She was born November 19, 1930, in Salem, Ohio to parents George and Mabel (Vollnogle) Huston. Lucy had been a first grade teacher for 31 years, 26 of those at Carlin (formerly Highland) Elementary in Ravenna. Lucy was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ravenna, the Portage County and State Retired Teacher's Associations, the Thursday Literary Club, and the Salem Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.
On August 24, 1952, she married the love of her life, Harvey Warner who survives in their home in Ravenna. The Warners love Ravenna and made it their home for 47 years. Also surviving are their three sons: Harvey Jr. (Kathleen) of Atlanta, Ga., Scott of Emeryville Ca. and his best friend Biaja Solomon, and David (Ellen Mills Warner) of West Milford, NJ. Lucy's memory will also be cherished by her grandchildren: Lauren (Nathan) Benton, Anna Warner, Celia (Charles), Siegel Az., Wallbrown and Paul Warner; as well as her siblings: Maybelle Burcaw of Homosassa, Fl., and George (Helen) Huston of Flagler Beach, Fl., along with many loving nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Monday, February 24, 2014, from 11:00 AM until the 12:30 PM funeral service officiated by Reverand Vernon White at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna. Private burial will take place on a later date at Maple Grove Cemetery.
