PAUL EDWIN PAGE
Age 98, passed away on February 11, 2014, at True Family Care in Riverside, CA in the loving arms of his family and caregiver family of Morningstar Hospice. He was born on November 24, 1915, in Corona, CA and had lived in Riverside and Corona most of his life. He retired from Alpha Beta Grocers and Corona Clipper Co., after many, many years as a Teamster. Paul graduated from Corona High School in the Class of 1933. He always enjoyed music and was a member of the Corona Symphony Orchestra with his dad, Elmer and brother, Harold, played his trumpet at his senior class banquet held at the Historic Mission Inn and was a member of a dance band who performed regularly at the Norconian Resort Supreme, later to become the United States Naval Hospital in Corona. His military service was in the Army, 1938th Service Command Unit and he was a recipient of the World War II Victory Medal, also qualified as Expert with the MI Rifle. He attended flight school at the Corona Airport after being discharged in March, 1946. It sparked a lifelong interest in flying and maintaining small private planes. Once he retired, the airport became his second home. A Pioneer American Aviator, he was flying almost daily until his mid-eighties. Paul was preceded in death by his mother and father, Pearl and Elmer Page, all eight of his brothers and sisters and by Dolores Sturgis Page, the mother of his daughters. He is survived by his daughters, Paula (Berkley) Kaufhold and Susan Page; his grandchildren Steve (Christy) Kaufhold, Ivy (John) Patten and Hans (Moira) Kaufhold. His six great grandchildren are Samantha Kaufhold, Sean Patten, Aaron Kaufhold, Rachael Kaufhold, Sawyer Patten and Christopher Kaufhold. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and many good friends, including Marian Kaufhold, his son-in-law's brother and neighbors.
