Obituary - Maxine Ottley Humphreys, 68, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend, passed away Thursday, July 29, 1993 of heart failure.

She was born September 25, 1924 in Burley, Idaho, a daughter of Leonard P. and Ivie Taylor Ottley. She was raised in Carlin, Nevada where she met her husband, Farrell J. Humphreys. They were married on March 15, 1946 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

She was a member of the South Weber Stake Fifth Ward. She served diligently in numerous church callings such as stake and ward MIA president, as well as many positions in both the Relief Society and Primary. In every ward she lived in, she served as organist.

She was a very talented musician and shared her love of music with everyone. She composed numerous songs and spent many hours performing for nursing homes, parties and family gatherings.

She had vast experience as a secretary and held positions at Tintic Standard Mining Co., IRS, and she worked as the secretary to the auditor of Geneva Steel Co. During her 17 years as head secretary at Davis High School, she was selected as Secretary of the Year for the State of Utah.

She is survived by her husband, Farrell; five daughters, Mrs. Larry (Coleen) Yates, Mrs. John (Jodiann) Graham, Mrs. Craig (April) Haslam, Mrs. Alan (Margo) Woodcock, and Mrs. Jim (Alison) Hopkin; 14 grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Gary (Ranae) Paxman, and Mrs. Jess (Ruth) Wright.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 2, 1993, at 11 a.m., at Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main Street, Kaysville. Friends may call at the mortuary Sunday from 6-8 p.m. and Monday, 9:45-10:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Kaysville City Cemetery.
