Robert S. Durr, 86, died February 20, 2014 at Western Plains Medical Complex, Dodge City.

He was born on January 21, 1928 at Mosea, Colorado, the son of Ross E. and Maurene (Sondles) Durr.

Robert married Thelma K. Francis on August 31, 1946 in Dodge City. They lived in Dodge City until 1950, and moved to Arapahoe, Colorado at that time. They returned to Dodge City in 1959. Thelma preceded him in death on January 9, 1973 at Dodge City.

He married Patricia Duryea on July 15, 1973 at Cimarron. She survives.

Robert was employed for Winter Feed Yard, Dodge City, for more than 28 years as a maintenance man.

He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and stock car racing.

Survivors include his wife Pat Durr, Dodge City, four sons, Ross Durr and wife Thersa, Bloom, Robert Lee Durr, Wilroads Gardens, Donald Durr and wife Jane, Palco, Kansas; Dalmar Durr, Dodge City, two daughters, Anna Dykstra, Scott City, and Naomi Durr, Dodge City, two stepdaughters, Roberta Harper and husband Sam, Dodge City, and Twila Payne and husband Dennis, Carthage, Missouri, nineteen grandchildren, thirty two great grandchildren and step grandchildren, and six great great grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Rosemary Hammons, and two brothers.
