Mr Edward J Cooney, a well known restauranter died this morning at 2 o'clock at the residence of his mother, 35 Thomas Street, in his 4? year. His death was very sudden. Prior to Tuesday, the deceased lived with his family over the restaurant on Winrow Street. On Tuesday, they moved into a house lately purchased Mr Cooney on Virginia Avenue. That day Mr Cooney contracted a cold and as the house not yet being arranged, he went to his mother's. A physician was summoned who yesterday stated that Mr Cooney was nearly well. Last night at eleven o'clock he was taken suddenly worse and died in convulsions superinduced by pneumonia at the hour stated. When a boy, ? years old, the deceased clerked in a store kept by Dennis Murphy on Winrow Street. At Mr Murphy's death, he conducted the store in his own name, but later engaged in the restaurant business on the same street. The deceased was not only well known, but well liked.
