Gerry Kistler, a native of Charlotte, passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2014 in his home in Stallings, NC.

Gerry was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Irwin Kistler, and his mother, Frances Payseur Kistler, both of Charlotte, NC. He was also preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Andrew James Turner II, of Charlotte, NC.

Gerry was born on June 26, 1940. He attended the public schools of Mecklenburg County and graduated from Harding High School as a proud member of the Class of '58. He attended Clemson University, where he studied Architecture. Gerry worked as an Interior Store Designer for Belk Store Services and later for Planning and Design Associates.

Gerry made a hobby of history and genealogy and was a proud member of the Mecklenburg Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution. He was a great artist and an avid golfer in his spare time. Gerry was a life-long, devoted Clemson fan and closely followed Clemson sporting events. He loved spending time with his family and was affectionately called "PawPaw" by his grandchildren.

Gerry grew up as a devoted Methodist and attended Dilworth Methodist Church. He later attended Providence United Methodist Church and most recently attended St. Stephen United Methodist Church. He loved God and joyfully served in various positions of leadership in the Church throughout his life.
