Mae Barrier Sigmon, 98, of 2300 Aberdeen Blvd., passed away March 8, 2010, at the Gaston Memorial Hospital.
She was born Feb. 2, 1912, in Avery County, daughter of the late Grady and Minnie Biggerstaff Barrier.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands Alexander Cromwell Cashion and Jake Sigmon; her children, Sarah Barnes, Hazel Payne, Doris Mitchell and Harold Cashion; and a grandson, Cliff Payne.
Ms. Sigmon was a member of West Fifth Avenue Free Will Baptist Church. She was retired textiles.
