Marvin "Red" Hansen, 82, Pocatello, passed away at his home, Thursday, February 20, 2014, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born November 8, 1931 at Richvale, Idaho to Frank E. and Marvis Bainbridge Hansen. He married Laura Van in 1949 and they were later divorced. He later married Donna Spackman in 1967 and she preceded him in death in 2008.He retired from Garrett Freightlines after 37 years of service. Red enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, assembling puzzles, and the Senior Citizen Center activities. He will be missed at the American Falls reservoir by everyone but the fish. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He is survived by two sons, Russell (Karen) Hansen and Dave (Angelete) Hansen; a daughter, Tami Thorn; 2 step-sons, Brett (Marilyn) Spackman and Scott Spackman; step-daugher-in-law, Vicky Spackman; 17 Grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; a brother, Gary Hansen of Ashton, Idaho; many loving friends; and companion, LouAnn Thayne.He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna; his parents; 2 brothers, Ned Hansen and Floyd Hansen; and step-son, Jim Spackman.Memorial services will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2014 at 2:00 pm in the Cornelison Funeral Chapel, 431 North 15th Ave. Pocatello, where the family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until service time. Interment will be held Saturaday, March 1, 2014 at 11:30 am in the Kuna Cemetery, Kuna, Idaho.
