Dorothy Luchik (nee Riffel), age 88, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 20, 2014 surrounded by her loving family.

She is survived by her two daughters, Marlene (Dennis) McPartlin and Donna (Lloyd) Bowden; grandchildren, Craig (Lana) McPartlin, Todd (Isabel) McPartlin, Alicia (Greg) Gonda, Amber (Nick) Meyer, and Marissa (Roy) Alvarado, Zachary (Marilyn), Nicholas, Benjamin and Lucas Bowden; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Linzi and Lucas McPartlin, Cade and Genevieve McPartlin, Skylar Gonda, Ryela and Reagan Meyer, Litzi and Conor, and Bella Bowden; one sister, Marie (the late Frank) Muster; sister-in-law, Mary Rose (Fred) Martin. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen Luchik; her parents, Frank and Cecilia (nee Oblak) Riffel; mother and father-in-law, Mary and Joseph Luchik; brother-in-law, Tom (Dess) Luchik; and sister-in-law, Sophie (George) Roesel.

She was a loving and generous mom, grandma, great-grandma "GG," sister, aunt and friend. Dorothy blessed her daughters and grandchildren with her crochet work, family meals, baked goods, and thoughtful cards.

She enjoyed traveling with family, gardening, and the laughter at family gatherings. She will be deeply missed. Dorothy retired from food service at Joliet Junior College.

Visitation will be on Sunday, February 23, 2014 at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet, IL from 2-8 p.m.

Services: Monday, February 24, 2014 with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 9:20 a.m. then driving in procession to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rockdale for a mass at 10:00 a.m.
