Mary Elmyra Sanders, 96, formerly of Keene, passed away January 2, 2003 in Thousand Oaks, California. She was born April 25, 1906 on a farm near Walkerton, Indiana. She Met Floyd O. Sanders at Andrews University, Berrien Springs, Michigan (formerly EMC), and in 1927 they were married and entered a lifetime of ministry together serving not only in Indiana, but also in North Carolina, Arkansas, Kansas, and Nebraska.
In 1971 retirement brought them to Keene, Texas. Mary's sense of humor and practical jokes kept life from becoming mundane. In retirement she volunteered in the Community Services Center, quilted for the church's humanitarian activities, counted church monies and went with Floyd to sell his original oil paintings. After 65 years of marriage, Floyd passed away. In 1997 she moved to be near her son.

Memorials may be made to Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA), 12501 Old Columbia Pike, Silver Spring, Maryland, 20904-6600.
