Mildred Ann Chappell, 74, formerly of Bryan, passed away Monday evening, February 17, 2014 in Watertown, New York. Visitation is scheduled for Friday, February 21, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan, Texas. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 22, 2014 at the Iola Church of Christ in Iola, Texas with Donny Chappell officiating. Interment will follow at Bryan City Cemetery in Bryan.
Mildred Roanna Chappell was born May 31, 1939 in Comanche, Texas to Mertis Hartman and Malachi C. Helm. She attended school in Soda Springs and Comanche, Texas. While attending School in Comanche met the love of her life, Sherman Chappell. Ann loved to sew and cook, as well as read. Most of all she loved her Lord and her family. Ann retired after 30 years of service with the Bryan I.S.D. where she served as the Cafeteria Manager.
Ann is preceded in death by her parents Malachi and Mertis, her husband Sherman, and a daughter, Patricia.
She is survived by three sons, Randall Sherman Chappell of Clayton, NY, Donny Glenn and wife Tana of Iola, TX, and Arthur Lynn Chappell and wife Sheila of Perryton, TX; two daughters, Terri Gilmore and husband Paul of Bryan, TX, and Brittany Nicole Bullock and husband Donald of Clayton, NY; one sister, Louise Stark and husband Jerry of Comanche, TX; grandchildren, Shellie, Amie, Cassie, John, Brandy, Rachel, Jason, Kristin, and Justin; nineteen great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law, Freddie and Janis Chappell, and Thelma McGhee; and numerous other family and friends.
