Thomas William "Tom" Merrill, 64, of Guymon; passed away Thursday morning, February 20th, 2014 at his home.

The son of Richard and Dorothy (Klinker) Merrill, he was born April 15, 1949 in Omaha, Nebraska.

Tom attended school in Augusta, Kansas and Kent, Washington; graduating from Meridian High School with the Class of 1967. He attended college at Panhandle State University. He was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the United States Army. Following his discharge in 1971 he moved to Guymon and served in the Army Reserve until 1996.

Mr. Merrill worked for Mobil on the production side from 1972 until his retirement in 1997. He was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Guymon Elk's Lodge, Boy Scout Leader and was involved with Kid's Inc.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Merrill.

Survivors include his wife of the home; his mother of Ardmore, Oklahoma; three children. Survivors also include six grandchildren, one sister of Erick, Oklahoma, and two brothers, numerous nieces, nephews, and in-laws.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday afternoon, February 24th at 2:00 p.m. at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor Mark Wescoatt officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in the Elmhurst Cemetery. Services are under the care of the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.

The Merrill family request memorials be given to Pink Heals or Guymon Kid's Inc. Memorials will be accepted at the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1112, Guymon, Oklahoma 73942.
