She was born June 18, 1953 to John and Helen (Jessee) Stanton in St. Joseph, Missouri.
She married Dale Wayne Thornton on July 7, 1973 in St. Joseph, Missouri. He preceded her in death on April 12, 2011.
Cynthia graduated from Benton High School in 1973 and attended Missouri Western State University. She worked for Heartland Regional Medical Center for over ten years as an Access Representative.
She was a member of Grace Evangelical Church for five years. She volunteered for the Special Olympics for thirty-five years and truly enjoyed working with Heartland Integrated Medicine co-workers and patients.
She was also preceded in death by her mother.
Survivors: sons, Danny Thornton, St. Joseph, Missouri and Chris Thornton (Amy), St. Joseph, Missouri; grandchildren, Anakin Thornton, Brooklynn Wright, Timothy Wright, Isaiah Quigley and Tage Robinson; sister, Karen Belcher (Bill), Platte City, Missouri; adopted son, Bryan Bolonyi, St. Joseph, Missouri; nephew, Timothy Belcher (Melinda), Shawnee, Kansas; niece, Lesley Belcher, Lee's Summit, Missouri; father, John Stanton (step-mother, Kay), Savannah, Missouri; half-sisters, Sherri Brissett, St. Joseph, Missouri, Sandee Bradley (Reed), Savannah, Missouri and Amy Parton, Kansas; and several other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous friends.
