Barbara S. Held went home to be with her Savior on April 7, 2001 at the age of 69 years.

She was born Barbara Sneckner on October 1, 1931 in Longview, TX. She graduated from Edison High School and attended Texas Lutheran College. She married Charles Held on December 24, 1953. One of her most admired traits was her adventurous spirit. She experienced life to the fullest and filled her family with countless numbers of treasured memories. Her sense of humor and positive outlook on life were magnetic and practical jokes a common staple. Her faith had always been a great source of strength for her and was a witness to family, friends and many acquaintances that she touched.

Barbara was a longtime member of Concordia Lutheran Church. She was preceded in death by her father, Bill Sneckner, Sr.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Held, D.D.S.; her mother, Effie 'Mimi' Sneckner; brother, Sonny Sneckner and sister, Shirley Herres. She is also survived by four children: son, David Held and wife Kris of San Antonio; daughters, Cindy McCarley and husband Kirk of St. Louis, MO, Elizabeth Rogers and husband Don of San Antonio, Melissa McKinney and husband Robert of Boerne.

One of her greatest joys was spending time with her 13 grandchildren, Holly, Heidi, Hayley and Hannah Held, Kyle and Megan McCarley, Daniel, James, David and Catherine Rogers, and Lauren, Matthew and Abby McKinney.

SERVICES
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday at 1:00 P.M. at Concordia Lutheran Church located at 16801 Huebner Road with a Reception following Services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Focus on the Family, one of Barbie's benevolences, P.O. Box 35550, Colorado Springs, CO 80935-3550, 1-800-232-6459. 'And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with Me that you also may be where I am.' John 14:3 Mission Park Funeral Chapels North.
