Judge A.V. Coco received a thorough education at St. Vincent's College, Cape Girardeau, Mo.,and graduated in the class of 1877. He later received a diploma from the law department of Tulane University in New Orleans, LA. After finishing his law course he began practicing his profession
in Marksville, LA until 1888. He then was elected judge of the district court, from the district composed of Avoyelles, Rapides and Grant Parishes.
He married Catherine Malone on 7-10-1877 in Memphis, Tennessee. They had 3 children. They are Numa M., Walter J., and Marie Lucille.
