Services for Eunice Jeanette Backman, 78, will be held 3PM Friday, February 21, 2014 at Saint James Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in Lexington Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, February 20, 2014 from 6-8 at Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Ms. Backman passed away February 18, 2014. Born in Lexington County, she was the daughter of Julian Thurmond and Ribbie Roseset Sharpe Owens. She was a member of Saint James Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her sons, Jack Backman (Joyce) and Orean Backman, daughters, Sara Miller, Edith Causey and Carolyn Gantt (Marion), brothers, Julian, Donald and Wayne Owens, sisters, Geneva Whitehead, Betty Bedenbaugh, Nell Lowman, Mary Henderson, Hazel Rawl, and Judy Hobbs, 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
