Woolsey E. Serven, age 87 of Clermont, FL passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at the Mike Conley Hospice House in Clermont FL. He was born in Pearl River, NY in 1926 to James E. Serven and Edith Danehart Serven and grew up in Jersey City, NJ. Mr. Serven was a Navy Veteran who served in both World War II and the Korean War. He was a graduate of St. Peter's (Jesuit) College in Jersey City, NJ in 1955. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 59 years, Leonore (Lee) Serven, three children, Ginger Hansen (Jim) of Jacksonville, FL, Neal Serven (Loni) of Indialantic, FL and Lisa Veres (Keith) of Clermont, FL along with three grandchildren, Alyssa Veres, Brooke Veres and Colton Serven. Mr. Serven and his family moved to Florida from upstate (Woodstock) NY in 1975 and resided in Orange Park, FL until June 2012 when he and his wife moved to Clermont, FL to be closer to his youngest daughter (Lisa Veres) and her family. While he lived in Woodstock, NY and Orange Park, FL, Mr. Serven was a faithful member of the United Methodist Church and enjoyed singing in the church choir. Mr. Serven spent his career from 1963 until he retired in 1991 as a Salesman and Regional Sales Manager for Lawyers Cooperative Publishing Company (a law book publishing firm headquartered in Rochester, NY). He enjoyed golf, travel, gardening and collecting seashells and a good plate of sushi. He loved his dachshunds. He was a loving family man who will be greatly missed. He loved to share a laugh with all he knew. Funeral Services will be held for Mr. Serven on Saturday, February 22 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Brewer & Sons Funeral Homes at 1018 West Avenue in Clermont, FL. Mr. Serven will be laid to rest at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL on Monday, February 24 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Mike Conley Hospice House in Clermont, FL.
