Fred Thomas Byrd, age 66, of Franklin, died Jan. 11, 2007.

Mr. Byrd was the former owner of Mr. Fred's Beauty Salon in Green Hills, and a sales representative with Andrews Cadillac. He was an active civic leader, past president of Franklin Optimist Club where he was instrumental in getting organized youth sports in Williamson County, recipient of the Long Rifle Award with Boy Scouts of America, Scout Master and Wood Badge Training Director for adult scout leaders, 32nd Degree Mason of the Hiram Lodge no. 7 and a Past Master, member of Scottish Rite, Al Menah Shrine and Jesters.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Frances Byrd of Franklin; sons, Scott (Tammy) Byrd of Franklin, Fritz (Stacie) Byrd of Franklin, and Brian (Yvonne) Byrd of Bradenton, Fla.; sisters, Mary Jane Byrd of Nashville, and Betty Gilliam of Nashville; and six grandchildren.

Burial will be in Williamson Memorial Gardens. Masonic Brothers will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Andrews Cadillac.
