CLARKSVILLE — Evelyn B. Moore, 90, of Detroit passed away Friday, Nov. 25, 2005, at her residence. She was the last living relative in the Detroit area of Vice President John Nance Garner.

Services are set for 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 27, at First Christian Church in Detroit with the Rev. Larry Seary officiating under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. Burial follows in Detroit Cemetery.

The body will lie in state at First Christian Church from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday.

She was born July 6, 1915, in Detroit, the daughter of Thad and Maude Garner Blair. She attended Detroit schools and Texas Women's University in Denton. She married Fred Warren Moore on Oct. 17, 1936. She worked as a secretary to the elementary principal in Detroit for 22 years. She was a member of First Christian Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Garner Lee Blair; husband, Fred Moore; and a daughter, Margot Garner Moore Cryer.

She is survived by two grandsons, Warren and Garner Lee Cryer of Dallas; three cousins, Betty Pendley of Austin, John Nance Garner III of Denton and Sarah Publicover of Dallas.

Pallbearers are Gary Stuart, James Miller, Jack Tucker, Dale Miller, Dr. Ralph Brown and Weldon "Billy" Martin.
