Mrs. Kathleen Baldwin Byers Johnson, age 78, of Wilkesboro died Monday, February 17, 2014 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home.
Funeral services will be held Saturday 2:00 PM, February 22, 2014 at Jesus Life Worship Center with Rev. Richard Owings officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 6 until 8 at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.
Mrs. Johnson was born December 2, 1935 in Wilkes County to Noah and Juanita Wood Baldwin. She worked for Nancy King Textiles and was a member of Jesus Life Worship Center.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Claude Byers; a daughter, Claudene Byers Pilkington; a sister, Hazel Phillips and a brother, Leroy Baldwin.
She is survived by: her husband, Don Elsworth Johnson of the home; one daughter, Cynthia Byers Morgan of Purlear, one son, Randy Claude Byers and wife, Patricia of Greenville, NC; two step-daughters, Ladonna Thilenius and husband, Howard of Florida, Martha Sue Speth and husband, Jeffrey of Missouri; grandchildren, Joshua Pilkington, Dustin Byers, Amanda Davis Williamson, Katelyn Byers, Sarah Byers; step-grandchildren, Melissa Viox, Andrea Thilehius, Sophia Speth, Caleb Speth; two sisters, Gladys Minton of Statesville, Patricia Russell of Ronda; five brothers, Henry Baldwin of Harmony, Tim Baldwin and wife, Sharon of Jonesville, Robert Baldwin, Bill Baldwin both of Elkin, Glenn Baldwin and wife, Kathy of Booneville.
