DIED SUDDENLY ON THE TRAIN.
As Edward Mulvaney Was Talking With A Friend His Spirit Fled
The community was shocked today at 11:30 when a Times Bulletin announced the sudden death of Mr Edward Mulvaney on the George's Creek and Cumberland enroute to this city. This morning Mr Mulvaney left for his days work at Midland at Clises Distillery as usual His health seemed as good as it had been for many months and there was no premonition of the sudden end that awaited him. After his work at Midland was over for the day, he walked to the station of the George's Creek and Cumberland railroad about a mile away. The exertion in the heat of the day evidently was too much for him as after a ride of about 30 minutes he expired without struggle. Dr. Spear who examined the body as it was tenderly removed from the train, pronounced apoplexy as the cause of death and State Attorney Henderson upon receipt of the report declared that the no coroner's inquest was necessary. (abridged) The deceased was born in Dublin Ireland parish of St Mary's Donnybrook and Irishtown, January 17, 1837 and was married to Miss Elizabeth McGirr on February 11, 1868 in St. Patrick's church, of this city, by Father Brennan. His father, James, died in Ireland, and his mother, Mary died here on July 6, 1887 in her 79th year. A brother, Christopher, somewhat older than the deceased lives in Lima, Peru and has a family. He has been there for a number of years and is prosperous. The funeral will take place on Thursday at 10 o'clock from St Patrick's church.
High Mass in Carroll Hall.
