Leonder L. Todd was born in Lawrance county, Indiana, October 21, 1857. He married Martha J. Campbell, of Valley Falls, Kansas, in February 1862, and two daughters were born to this union, both growing to womanhood. His wife died in August, 1876, and one daughter, Mrs. Dalton, died in 1904. The other daughter is residing in the state of Washington.
Mr. Todd moved to Kansas in 1857 and from thence came to Oklahoma and secured a claim ten miles southwest of town in the memorable run of April 1889 and has resided in or near Hennessey since. He was quiet, reticient, and very gentlemanly in bearing, winning respect and esteem from his fellow men. He had been a member of the M. E. church since the age of sixteen. He was a member of the Seven Star I.O.O.F. No 90, who immediately took charge of the body. Services were held from the M. E. church, and were conducted by Rev. J. H. Hubbard, Monday afternoon October 17, 1910, at 2:00 o'clock, and remains entered in city cemetery. One daughter, nine grandchildren, four brothers, and three sisters survive deceased.
