ANDOVER - Mark Thomas Dougherty, 51, passed away peacefully on Sunday (Oct. 13, 2013) at home surrounded by family.

Mr. Dougherty was born on May 30, 1962, in Hornell, to Charles A. and Carolyn C. (Clarke) Dougherty, who survive.

He graduated from Andover Central School in 1980.

Mark worked for Otis Eastern Services, Inc. in Wellsville. Previously he worked for KS LaForge in Wellsville and for many years, farmed the Hillview Farms in Andover with his parents.

In addition to his parents, Mark is survived by a daughter, Alexis Ann Dougherty of Westfield, Pa.; five brothers, Charles P. Dougherty of Homestead, Fla., Edward C. Dougherty of Hornell, Anthony J. (Laura) Dougherty of Richmond, Texas, Patrick C. (Theresa) Dougherty of Wellsville, and John M. (Sherry) Dougherty of Andover; one sister, Susan (Chet) Dougherty-Norton of Whitesville; two uncles, William (Mary) Dougherty of Elmira, and Robert (Sally) Dougherty of Wellsville; 12 nieces and nephews; and several cousins.

Mark had a great sense of humor. He was a hard worker and had great faith. He loved his daughter and family very much.

Friends may call on Wednesday from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Baker-Swan Funeral Home in Andover. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held later on Wednesday at noon at Blessed Sacrament Church in Andover with Rev. Sean DiMaria as celebrant.

Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
