MABANK — Services for Mrs. Mary L. Fisher, 96, of Mabank, who died Monday in a Mabank nursing home, were to be held today at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Kerrville Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ron Lowry of Trinity Baptist Church officiating. Burial was to follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Born Nov. 25,1896 in Martin County, Ind., Mrs. Fisher had been a resident of Mabank since 1979, formerly residing in Kerrville. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star #24 for 70 years, and was a charter member of, Trinity Baptist Church. She was named Texas Mother of the Year in 1968. She and her late husband had owned and operated Fisher's Shoe Shop on Main Street for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Fisher Sr., in 1975; and two sons, Frank Fisher Jr. in 1982 and Harry C. Fisher in 1980., Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Catherine and W.A. Algood of Mabank; two sons and three daughters-in- law, Clarence E. and Inez Fisher of Port Neches, Lewis K. Fisher of Marble Falls, Jerry Fisher of Alvin and Ruby Fisher of Taylor; 12 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Trinity Baptist Church or Alta Frio Baptist Encampment in Leakey. Kerrville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
