John R. Marple, 56, of Buckhannon, died Sunday, Feb. 16, 2014, at his home.

He was born March 10, 1957, in Buckhannon, a son of Izola White Marple of Buckhannon and the late Charles R. Marple.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by one daughter, Laura Marple of Bridgeport; one son, Brock Marple and wife, Crissi, of Buckhannon; one grandson, Conner Marple of Buckhannon; one granddaughter, Keira Klingensmith of Bridgeport; five brothers, Gary Marple, Richard Marple and wife, Arveda, Charles Marple and wife, Julia, Kenneth Marple and wife, Charlene, and Craig Marple and wife, Sandy, all of Buckhannon; several nieces and nephews; and a companion, Sherry Gould of Buckhannon.

John was a farmer.

Friends will be received Thursday, Feb. 20, from 5-8 p.m. at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Rodney Heckert officiating. Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery at Jane Lew.
