Anna was the daughter of Lambert and Sophia Wahl. She married August Greterman in April 22, 1884 at Breda, Iowa. on March 21, 1884 at Breda, Iowa. They were the parents of Henry, Theresa, Albert, Lambert, Louis, Clem, Mary, Clara, Tena, August, and two children who died in infancy.

Feb 16, 1922 - Carroll Times - Mrs. August Grueterman, a resident of Carroll county since 1879, died, at St. Anthony hospital Saturday morning, February 11, following an operation of a week earlier. Funeral services were held at S.S. Peter and Paul's church Monday morning and burial was made in the Catholic cemetery.

Mrs. Grueterman was enjoying good health until two weeks before her death. Her ailment, at first diagnosed as stomach trouble, was later ascribed to internal tumors of cancerous nature. She underwent an operation Saturday, February 4, and rallied within a few days, but grew worse on the following Friday and died the next morning.

Mrs. Grueterman, nee Miss Anna Wahl, was born in Cassville, Wis, October 7, 1866, and came to Carroll county in 1879. She was married to August Grueterman at Breda in April, 1884. She lived in Carroll county with the exception of a few years at Sibley, Ia., residing on the farm most of the time but moving to Carroll several years ago. Mrs. Grueterman was a devoted member of the Catholic church and took an active part in its affairs. She was a home loving woman, with her family interests always at heart.

Besides her husband she is survived by the following children: Henry Grueterman, of Coshocton, Ohio; Albert Grueterman, of Sibley, Ia.; Mrs. Sam Sloan, of Onawa, Ia.; Lambert Greuterman, of this city; Mrs. Art Esh, of Lake City; Mrs. Edward Lappe, of Carroll; and Louis, Tena and Gussie who live at home.

She also is survived by the following brothers and sisters; Mrs. Elizabeth Romey, Cassville, Wis.; Henry Wahl, of Council Bluffs; Mrs. C. Schaben, of Carroll; W.H. Wahl, of Westfield; Mrs. Clara Sheffield and J.B. Wahl, of Oakland, Calif.
