Obituary, Florida Times-Union, February 18, 2014
Veronica Frances Trauner Anthony left us to be with God on February 16 in Jacksonville, FL, her home for over 35 years. Born on February 2, 1922, she was the daughter of Paul and Grace Trauner and grew up in Elberta, AL.

She was the third of her parents' eight children, and was the last of her line. She served in the U.S. Army Air Force from 1943- 1945, earning the rank of Corporal. Veronica had a great sense of adventure and loved her years in White Horse, Canada.

The formidable matriarch of her family, Veronica is survived by five daughters: Frances Evans (William) of Sebring; Lynda Waite (Dave) of St. Petersburg; Ruby Rodgers (Michael) of Bernardston, Mass; Edna Trambley (Jim) and Brenda Love (Daniel) both of Jacksonville. She also had 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Rather than flowers, the family asks that friends who wish to remember Veronica send a contribution to the Wounded Warrior Project in her memory. Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 18, from 5 - 7 p.m. at Hardage-Giddens Town and Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205. Burial will take place in the National VA Cemetery.
