BASTROP, LA. Funeral services for Mrs. Lorene Madden Hickman will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 20, 2014 at Mt. Zion Church of God near Goodwill, Louisiana.

Interment will follow at Redwing Cemetery under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop.

Anna Lorene Hickman was born December 13, 1923 at Goodwill, Louisiana to the late William Wesley Madden and Altha Smith Madden.

She passed away peacefully, February 17, 2014 at the Lagniappe Health Care Center in Bastrop.

Mrs. Hickman was a member of the Mt. Zion Church of God and a retired nurses aide and resided in Bastrop, LA.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Reverend Thomas Walbert Hickman; a great-grandson, William Joseph Hickman, Jr.; son-in-law, Mitchell M. Hillman; three brothers, W.M. Madden, Harvey Madden, and Jimmy Ray Madden; five sisters, Opal Rischer, Frankie Lee Jennings, Annie Pearl Carter, Lois Chain, and Paulette Pace. She is also preceded in death by a loving aunt, Alyne Hemphill.

Mrs. Hickman is survived by her four children, Joyce Madine Beverage and her husband, Leon of Gautier, Mississippi, Carl Walbert Hickman and his wife, Diane of Grayson, Louisiana, William Roy Hickman and his wife, Dessa of Bastrop, Louisiana, Jeannie Anise Netherland and her husband, H.D. of Winnsboro, Louisiana; two brothers, Tom Wesley Madden of Harding, Texas and John Wiley Madden of Louisville, Mississippi; a sister, Miriam Chain of Harding, Texas; seven grandsons, Scotty, Barry, Christopher "Buff", Bradley, Billy Joe, David, and Wade; eight granddaughters, Cody, Kacy, Monica, Tosha, Shannon, Jamie, Shannon, and Cayce; twenty-five great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers will be Mrs. Hickman's grandsons, Barry Hillman, Bradley Hillman, Billy Joe Hickman, David Hickman, Christopher "Buff" Hickman, and great-grandsons, Tucker Carlsen, and Tyler Carlsen.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop.
