Our beloved "Rebel RaeBell" age 79, passed from us on February 17, 2014, in Broken Arrow, OK. In her daughter's home and with much love surrounding her. Mom was born in Bluebell, to James Ivan and Lucy Bell (Lisonbee) Bird on July 19, 1934. She attended school at Altamont, where she met and fell in love with Dale Allred, they were married soon after. Together they had three sons, James Leroy, Michael Dale, and Curtis Andrew, otherwise knows as "her boys". Their lives took them from Utah to Indiana then to Roseburg Oregon where they settled. Their marriage ended after 23 years and Mom returned to Bluebell Utah. While she loved the beautiful Oregon Coast and the lush green mountains and all the adventures that life had offered her while living there, she missed her parents and the beautiful desert Mountains of Utah. Mom would miss the smell of sage brush after a rain so much,....she often found little bundles of sagebrush in the mail sent by her mother. Upon returning to Bluebell she fell in love with Glenn Samuel Jenkins and was married March 3 1973, their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple in 1979. Their marriage produced two daughters, Glenda Rae and Teresa Hazel. Mom was a master of many crafts and talents. While in Oregon and during a time that is wasn't common for women to learn to fly mom learned to fly a plane and got her license. She and Dale had their own planes and flew them frequently to Utah to visit family. She learned to play guitar, banjo, sword fencing, ceramics, pottery, painting, quilting, sewing, knitting, crocheting, embroidery, glass etching, bead work, jewelry making, macramé & leather work, where she made her own beautiful saddle. Mom made the effort to make holidays a special event for us with her tasty treats and family gatherings. Easter was a big fun event that the Jenkins' and Birds would all gather together down in the Gulch on Sand Hill to celebrate and play. It was rowdy, windy, sandy, full of candy and hidden treats and wonderful pot luck to follow. She loved tradition and family and any excuse to gather to laugh and eat. It was very common to find a lot of us gathered at her house for dinner for many many years. Mom had a playful sense of humor and loved a good water fight. Mom was never a lazy person. She took pride in being fit and strong and her ability to work hard. Just weeks before she became ill she was out climbing the hills around the ranch with Jaiden and Tyson, who at times were pushing her up the ledges and other times pulling, all the while her laughing She always had a big beautiful yard and plenty of activities at her house to keep us occupied, including volley ball, bad mitten, cricket, and horse shoes. plenty of berries to be ate off the trees and shrubs and lots of grapes. If you were lucky you might be driving by and see her naked little grandkids streaking and sliding on the homemade wet banana water slide. Tuesday was always a good day for mom, it was her temple day. She loved her work and friendships that were developed there. Mom was truly a person of service and love to her fellow men. Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was precious to her, as she was a faithful and obedient member her whole life. Mom is adored by her many nieces and nephews, and cherished by her brothers and sisters. Words can not express the sadness in our hearts for the loneliness will we feel for not having our mom always be just a phone call away. Or the rowdy gatherings at her house. She is survived by her children, James Leroy Allred, Lincoln City, OR; Michael and (Laura) Allred, Eugene, OR; Curtis and (Sheli) Allred, Vernal; Glenda Jenkins, Vernal; Teresa and (Michael) Stuart, Broken Arrow, OK. Her grandchildren, Han, Bond, Alexis, Monica, Jaiden, Kelby, Tyson, Talon, Mikendree, Zephyr, and great grand children, Anakin, Frank, Ringo, Kea,Tyke, & Bowie. Her brothers and sisters, Hazel and (Bud) Jackson, Ogden; Buddy and (Pauline) Bird, Duchesne; Paul and (Yvonne) Bird Bluebell; Connie Gines, Holladay, UT; and her special aunt Florence whom she visited regularly every Wednesday. She is proceeded in death by her parents James and Bell Bird, her husband, Glenn Samuel Jenkins, older brothers, Tal and Jimmy Bird. Mom We are so Proud of you, and while we feel a huge loss without you, we are celebrating with you the honorable completion of your earthly Mission! Well Done! &.....Until we meet again, HUGS and KISSES. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Altamont LDS Chapel.
