Lorene Joyce Carpenter
February 28, 1919 - February 15, 2014

Lorene Joyce Carpenter, age 94, died on February 15, 2014, at Bristol Pointe Rehabilitation Center. Lorene was born February 28, 1919, at Alpena Pass, Arkansas, the daughter of Sidney and Mattie (Thompson) Savage.

Services will be 10 AM, Tuesday, February 18, 2014, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home with Rev. Dwight Crowley and Rev. Chuck Browder speaking.

Burial will be in Crawford cemetery following the services.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 PM, Monday, February 17, 2014, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Keith Carpenter, Anthony Fuller, William Carpenter, Roy Trogdon, Wayne Crunkleton and Landon Curtis. Honorary pallbearers will be friends and staff from Bristol Pointe Rehabilitation Center.

Lorene is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Finis Carpenter.

She is survived by two sons, Ronnie and Carolyn Carpenter of Harrison, David and Linda Carpenter of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; two daughters Jan and Bill James of Bryant, AR and Linda and David Trogdon of St. Joe; 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren and a host of family and friends.

Lorene and Finis were married on October 25, 1941 and made their home in Everton. The cabin they spent their honeymoon is still on the family farm. Lorene was a founding member of the Everton Baptist Church and loved working in the nursery at the church. Lorene was a true farmer's wife the way she took care of the kids, helped with any project on the farm and shared her whole life with her husband while still following the Lord in all she did while on this earth. Lorene loved gardening and her family and while able, loved to cook and spend time visiting and taking trips with all her family.



Memorials may be made to the Everton Baptist Church Nursery or the Crawford Cemetery Perpetual Fund.
