Carl Monroe Warren, age 71, of Conover passed away Sunday, February 16, 2014 at Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory. Born May 8, 1942 in Catawba County, he was the son of the late Conley Warren and Margaret Drum Warren. Carl was a member of St. Stephens Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, David Warren; and stepson, Jimmy Bowen. He is survived by his wife of 33 years: Linda Drum Warren of the home; brother Jerry Warren and wife Diane of Maiden; sister Loretta Bradshaw of Charlotte; mother-in-law Mary Norris Drum of Hickory; brother-in-law Everette Drum and wife Ilene of Newton. The funeral service was held on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Stephens Lutheran Church Missouri Synod in Hickory with Rev. Dave Guelzow and Rev. David Ziehr officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Burke Mortuary in Newton was in charge of arrangements.
