"Page Pioneer" Lyle V. Stigler, a resident of Morro Bay, died age 63, at a San Luis Obispo Hospital, California.

He had been Administrator of Page Hospital by at least April 1962. He and Edna Marion (Christianson) Stigler (married April 12, 1941 in California) had three children; their oldest son is, James Martin "Jim" Stigler, born August 2, 1946, in Ohio -- Page High School Class of 1964, Page, Arizona (but he graduated from Parkland HS in Texas.

On June 4, 1955, CWOHC USN Lyle V. Stigler, age 40, arrived at Travis AFB from (TYO) Tokyo International Airport with Japanese Robert Eldon Stigler, age 3, born April 1, 1952, Naturalized in Brooklyn, NY, in 1957.

Lyle's father, James Earl Stigler, a native of West Tennessee, was 39 and a Druggist at the time of Lyle's birth. His mother, Pearl Ethel (Waller) Stigler, a native of Erath County, Texas, was a 34-year-old housewife at the time of Lyle's birth in Morgan Mill, Texas, where they were recorded as residing, and she had 5 living children out of 6 births. "J.E. Stigler of Stephenville, Texas" was the informant for Lyle's birth.

Lyle Vernon Stigler lived in Hagåtña, Guam, when the United States declared war on Japan just one day after the attack on Pearl Harbor that killed 2,400 Americans.

In 1940, Lyle was 25, single, and stationed at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Agana, Guam. Occupation: Phm.2C. USN. He had attended school for 14 years.

In 1941, Lyle and Edna were living in Long Beach, California, and he was with the U.S. Navy. He was still with the Navy in 1957-1960, Ventura, CA &

VANCOUVER, WA - In the wake of James S. Gardner's resignation as Administrator of St. Joseph Hospital, Lyle V. Stigler was appointed Assistant Administrator and Director of Patient Affairs, as temporary head of the county institution.

VANCOUVER - Effective October 1, 1967, Lyle V. Stigler, formerly Assistant Administrator, St. Joseph Hospital, was appointed as the new Administrator of Clark County Hospital.

Earl Stigler is Lyle's nephew.

Lyle was cremated; his cremains were kept by his wife until her death and cremation, then their cremains were mixed together and scattered in the Sacramento River in California by their son, Jim.
