Vernon Wayne Watkins, 73, passed away on February 15, 2014. Mr. Watkins graduated from Byars Hall High school, went to the University of Tennessee at Martin, and the William R. Moore School of Technology. Mr. Watkins worked for Mayes Howard Lumber Co, the State of Tennessee Dept. of Highway Division of Right a way, and was a member of the River of Life Assembly of God Church in Munford, and had an interest in farm and cattle.

Mr. Watkins is survived by his wife of 28 years, Martha Pinner Watkins of Munford; daughter, Elizabeth Paige Scott (Neil) of Covington; grandchildren, Ryen Scott (Brittny) of Ripley and Laurel Scott of Covington; and a great-granddaughter, Lexi Scott.

The services for Mr. Watkins were held on Tuesday, February 18, at 2 PM at the River of Life Assembly of God Church in Munford. Visitation for Mr. Watkins will take place on Monday night, from 5-8 at the Funeral Home. Interment in the Covington Memorial Gardens.
