Lois Collier, 85, of Ashland passed away unexpectedly early Friday morning, Feb. 14, 2014, at Samaritan Regional Health System.

Mrs. Collier was born Jan. 28, 1929, in Paintsville, Ky., to John Powell and Virgie (neé Huff) Davis. She had been a resident of Ashland since moving in 1980 from Flint, Mich.

Lois had worked as a salesperson in the real estate business while living in Flint. After she moved to Ashland, she worked at Eagle Rubber Co. for 2 ½ years and also had worked as a housekeeper.

She was a member of Church of Christ in Ashland. She enjoyed reading, bowling and spending time with her church family and friends.

On Oct. 9, 1948, she was married to Clarence O. Collier, who preceded her in death Oct. 5, 1989.

Lois is survived by her son, David L. (Debbie) Collier of Denver, N.C.; a granddaughter, Carey (Channing) Burnette and two great-grandchildren, Autumn and Noah Burnette.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence O. Collier; a sister, Mary M. Adams; and a brother, Ivan Davis.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014, at Denbow-Primm-Kemery Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald Highman officiating. Burial will be in Ashland County Memorial Park. There will be no calling hours.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Denbow-Primm-Kemery Funeral Home, 313 Center St., Ashland, Ohio 44805.
