Shirley Dean Hoeltzel died on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at Essentia Health in Sandstone. She was 88 years old.

Shirley was born on July 10, 1925 in Leavenworth, Kansas to Harvey and Charlotte Bailey.

Throughout her life she had lived in Leavenworth, KS, Florence, CO, Hollister, MO, Hinckley, MN and Sandstone, MN.

On March 1, 1945 she was united in marriage to Edwin Hoeltzel in Enid, Oklahoma. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting and was a member of Lutheran church.

She is preceded in death by her husband Edwin; her daughters LaJean Gillaspie and Marline McCoy; two brothers and one sister.

Shirley is survived by her sons Thomas (Jane) Hoeltzel of Leavenworth, KS, Leland (Barbara) Hoeltzel of Libby, MT and William (Linda) Hoeltzel of Leavenworth, KS; 15 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; nieces, nephews; family friend Sandy Sandwick and other relatives and friends.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at Mount Muncie Cemetery in Leavenworth, Kansas.
