Obituary:
May 18, 1910, Stevens Point Gazette: Was Ill Two Years. Mrs. Nellie Dakins, wife of Louis Dakins of the town of Plover died at the home of her sister, Mrs. Frank McGown, east of Plover, at 11:49 Tuesday noon. The termination of an illness of about two years with tuberculosis. The deceased lady was 33 years, 6 months and 24 days old. Her maiden name was Nellie Welch and she is survived by her mother, husband, sister and two children, all of whom have the sympathy of many friends in their affliction. For some time she had been sleeping and living in a tent at the home of her sister, Mrs. McGown, with the hope that the fresh air treatment would ultimately restore her to health, but the dreaded white plague had already fastened itself upon her with an unrelenting grip. The funeral will take place from the M.E. church at Plover at 10 o'clock Thursday forenoon. With interment in Plover cemetery.
